Please identify the driver version that you download is match to your OS platform. I am also using Code Composer Studio V2.1 to send exedcutable code to the DSP board which is expecting an LPT printer port to be available but there is only a USB port with the adaptor cable plugged in. The DSP board documentation suggests I change the parallel port mode to ECP or EPP but I have no idea how to do that. I bought a USB to DB25 Parallel Port Adaptor cable to connect the DSP board to my laptop. Windows installs the USB Printer Support driver automatically but the DSP utility fails when invoked to check the connectivity. The DSP board has a DB25 IEEE-1284 compliant parallel port ad my laptop has a USB port. If I unplug the USB plug (on the Adapter Cable) from the computer, it is immediately recognized in the Device Window and the IEEE-1284 device is removed in the Devices window.Hello, I am trying to get my Texas Instruments DSK6711 DSP board communicating with my Windows 7 64-bit DELL Inspiron 15R laptop. At no time has the printer indicated that it has recieved any data (on this model there is a flashing indicator on the control panel when data is being transmitted).
When I try to change the printer driver in the IEEE-1284 device window, it simply tells me that the driver is up-to-date for the device attached (which it thinks is 'none'). The IEEE-1284 device says no printer is attached.
The 'Enable Bidirectional Support' feature is greyed out, so I can't activate it (it is shown as unchecked). Sometimes I print a test page and get an error that the printer is out of paper (it isn't), and sometimes the printer test page goes I have tried every USB port and every LPT port shown in the list. Per all the instructions I have read - nothing happens. Problem - When I set the printer port in the printer device window to USB003 virtual printing port, I have purchased and installed a USB to IEEE 1284 adapter cable and Windows 8 recognizes the adapter (automatically, without having to load any driver). (Note that I have an HP 1055 All-In-One connected by USB to this computer and it is working fine.) I have located and installed the 64 bit printer driver for this printer successfully and the printer device (DesignJet 220) shows up in my printer list. I have a printer (HP DesignJet 220) with LPT only port. I have recently purchased a Windows 8 PC.
